Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging

Bluff City Vision Care is seeing more and treating more with the Optos California

Optos

Regular detailed examination of the inside of the eye - the retina, is critical to eye health. We know that many eye diseases occur or begin at the outer edges of the retina. Because seeing the entire retina is so important at Bluff City Vision Care, we have invested in the most advanced camera for ultra-widefield photography. In a single image captured in less than a second, this camera produces “optomap” photos that provide superior visibility of the retinal periphery to see, document, and follow pathology that could not be seen with traditional eye cameras or without a dilated examination. The optomap exam is quick and painless and offers a new level of diagnostic confidence as well as an excellent resource for educating our patients about their eye health.

Virtual Perimetry

Bluff City Vision Care is making visual field testing modern and accessible with the VIRTUAL FIELD.

Virtual Field

Visual field testing is a critical component of managing eye diseases such as glaucoma and drooping eyelids as well as systemic conditions that affect the eyes such as stroke, tumors, multiple sclerosis, and thyroid disease. Medication use such as Plaquenil also requires careful monitoring of the visual field. The VIRTUAL FIELD provides superior patient comfort with a modern, easy-to-use headset and quick testing protocol compared to more traditional devices. This allows for efficient yet accurate results, so our doctor can be confident in the data when making treatment and management decisions.

Optical Coherence Tomography

Bluff City Vision Care is detecting disease earlier with the Topcon Maestro2 OCT.

Topcon & Healthcare

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an advanced scan that uses light waves to image below the retinal surface in order to reveal eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. This imaging often identifies diseases before they cause vision loss and even before they can be seen on clinical examination. Once a condition is diagnosed, OCT helps monitor its progression to determine the best treatment options. The Maestro2 OCT is fully automated for a quick and accurate scan.
